CZ75 SP01 Tactical losing a round during carry
I carry this firearm with me daily. I have noticed a couple of times, however, a problem which is worrisome to me. I always carry it chambered and de-cocked.

I have removed the magazine a couple of times after several days' use. One round, presumably the "top" round in the magazine, is coming loose somehow. I'll remove the magazine, and have a round drop free from the magwell and onto the floor. I usually remove the magazine while the gun is tipped "sideways", so the round falls loose when I tip the firearm to a "normal" position, so that I can rack and remove the round in the chamber.

I've tried it with the magazine full (18 rounds) as well as with 17 rounds, with the same effect. Both of my magazines look completely identical in every way.

I am worried that I'm going to have trouble if I were ever to use it, if that round were to come loose. I know the chambered round would go off, but I'm afraid of a failure after that.

I haven't experienced this exact circumstance, but I do notice that when I pull the mag on mine, the top round is almost always displaced a bit, as though it ha been pulled slightly toward the breech. Usually less than 0.25", more like 0.125".

ETA: It's always fired reliably, though!

Yes, it does look like the top round is moved forward about a quarter of an inch after chambering a round.  A friend over at sksboards.com told me to just drop the magazine after chambering and tap the magazine to make the rounds all seat back in place, then re-insert the magazine.

He also gave a helpful tip that he has done to all of his CZs in some degree (I think he owns 5 of them!)  Check out the thread for some pictures:

friction of the slide is moving the round forward..
polish the bejesus out of the part of the slide that sits on top of the round and replace your mag springs with +5% or +10% mag springs.

the round will feed fine..the only downside is your mag will hang up when you eject it the the round sitting forward.
