Title: Anyone ever hard chrome SP-01?

I recall a thread around here showing various Sp-01 custom guns- mostly bright duracoat finishes.

I was looking to get a stainless 1911 or Hi Power up to the $1k mark.

I had a P01 and liked it.  

I'm now considering the SP-01 with modifications such as trigger work, thinner grips,  and a nice hard chrome finish.

Would like to see custom SP-01's if you have pics or link to pics.  Thanks!

would like to see one hardchromed too..my polycoat is worn in so many spots..it would be nice to see it look new again..

My guess is that since many of these are comp guns it won't be long before someone posts a hard chromed one. These things were built for hard use and they are seeing more than their fair share of it!

Well, for me it's between a nice High Power hard chromed or an SP-01.

But, I don't want to quite spend $1500.  

I shoot too much to add a .45 right now.  

So, looking at stainless guns too.  But I think a hard chromed custom SP-01 with Nill grips would be pretty sweet.

Well, I don't know about hard chrome, but...
when my finish gets sufficiently worn, I was thinking about Roguard for the slide, NP3 for the frame and internals.

We've had a SP01 hard chromed down here in Oz, looks good. I'll try and obtain some photos for your perusal

I know it won't look radically different from the stainless 75 model, but chrome does have a different look.

Is a hardchrome SP01 legal for USPSA Production?  Would that be an "external modification"?

I believe you can refinish a gun in USPSA..
in IPSC you have to have the OEM refinish the gun.
