Finally picked up a new ccw gun. Held and dry fired the XDS, the Shield and the LC9S from Ruger. Had the LC9 at one time, but traded it for a Sig 938. Hated the double action trigger on the LC9. I do regret trading off the Sig, but that's water under the bridge. When I compared the triggers on the xds, the shield and the lc9s, I found the lc9s to have the better trigger of the 3. I prefer sa/da, but cant seem to find anything in 9mm in that category. I have been looking for more info on this striker fired gun, but it must be to new, and cant find much. Even the Ruger site doesn't have much. Still haven't taken it to the range, so I cant state yet how reliable it is. It is a Ruger though, so I am confident that it should perform well. Just wondering if anyone else has had any experiences yet with this gun.

Bersa make a DA/SA 9mm. The Thunder nine UC. I have one. Looks a bit like a PPK. Fully ambidextrous. Great pistol for little money.

I bought one of the original LC9s and hated the trigger so I gave it to my son and bought a Shield to replace it. I also have both versions of the LCP (the trigger on the new version is much better). I like Rugers so I may revisit the LC9 and try the new model.

That one has been on my radar for years, and I should get one just to get it out of my system. I have also read good reviews on the 45. I wanted something slim though, and I think the Bersa is about the same width as the Rami, which I carry all the time. Love that gun. Just a few times its proved that its kind of a fatty. I was just really impressed with the new trigger on the Ruger. Cant wait to shoot it.

The new ruger looks interesting. I had an early lc9 and could never shoot it very well because of the trigger. I also started having ftf issues. I called ruger and they sent me a new top end and a self addressed envelope to send back the old one. Great service. The new top end worked perfect. I let the gun go in a trade on a sig 232 and didn't think twice about it. But I look forward to trying one of the new ones.

On the way back from work today, I stopped at the police range by my house. Fired 100 rds of 115 Freedommunitions and about 50 rds of various defense rounds that included 115gr, 124gr, 135gr and 147gr. Some were +p. Zero failures. Accuracy was great at 7yds with the Freedom stock. Many rounds were touching. My POI kept changing with the defense ammo, since I didn't really bring enough rounds to thouroughly test them. Settling on some 124gr Hornady Custom. Had the same POI of the freedom. I was mainly making sure it would all cycle without problem. The trigger was very easy to handle, and I am much happier with it than I was with the original LC9. Eventually I will change the sights to XS sights, but there is no hurry since the originals work quite well. Ruger made a good improvement here, And I am looking at striker fired guns again. Either the Walther or the new HK VP9. This Ruger will not replace my Rami, but when the Rami ends up being slightly to bulky, the LC9S should be a good option. By the way, I did a 2 step back starting at 7yds, while shooting at a piece of target that was still on the board using the last 2 loads of Freedommunitions. The pieces of paper were only about 3" by 2". I managed to get back to 17 yds and I was still hitting the target. The papers were actually covered by the front sight, and I could not see them. Very content with this little pistol.

I picked up the H&K VP9. It is a great gun very accurate . A good trigger. I gave my CZP09 40s&w to my son he is a leo range officer. His dept. changed from Glocks 40s&w to Sig's P220's in 45acp. So he still had 40 ammo to try out the P09 at their range.

Nice. I have been looking at that VP9. Not sure whether to go with that or the Walther PPQ. By the way, Hickok45 really enjoyed the LC9S. Glad he reviewed it.

I would love to get my wife an LC9S. She opted to start with the LCP. She goes for her first shooting lesson this week. She is shooting with the Elsie and a G19. I hope she takes to the 9mm. (I could learn to like the dark side)

That LC9s looks like a sweet gun and with the reports I've been reading about the trigger action in a striker fired pistol, it's very tempting. Size is very similar to the Shield; although, the LC9s is slightly less on width and weight. The Rugers I've owned have all been trouble free, and the P94 I owned for years enabled me to shoot very accurately. I love the Shield, yet I'm sensing it would be good to have two of similar size and form factor . . . .

My son went with my wife to buy a handgun. She came home with the LC9. She really liked the way it fit her hand, etc. I told her the trigger would be a challenge. I ended up selling it and getting her a Shield, which she is good with. But she really like the LC9 better is she could have just mastered that trigger. She didn't want a trigger job. Anyway, I am gonna surprise her this Christmas with the LC9S. I dry fired one and the trigger is waaaaay better. Glad Ruger finally got it right.

I would love to see Ruger put this trigger system on the LCP !!!
