Initial CAD of CGW rear sight design.

Sweet sight. Is that for the 75 or 09 series?
I love CAD. What release are you using?
-
Very nice, sir. 8)
-
Very very nice David.
-
Looks great.
-
Cool picture. Thanks.
-
Will this be a target or carry sight?
-
The sight will allow the user to change the rear blade if needed, so it can be used for many purposes.
-
When can we expect this to go into production? :)
-
Is the rear blade adjustable for elevation? What is the blue piece?
-
Nice looking. Dimensions?
-
If the purpose of this thread is to gauge interest, you can count me as INterested.
-
It sort of looks like an EZ drift sight with a blade added.

That is awesomeness! Simple notch width changes for different applications and testing.
-
Write me up as interested, this looks great.
-
I am interested as well.
-
I'd be interested... I've always thought the factory sights on the 75 series need to be redesigned to take advantage of the longer sight radius and keep rounded edges for carry. Nothing out there that fits that need right now besides milling the slide to accept a Novak style sight instead.
-
Only the Shadow slides can accept a novak sight cut and that will knock you out of the SSP division in IDPA.
-
So, er... do you need any beta testers?
-
Nice looking sight, whats next with your design?
Richard

Any updates on the new sight?

Bump. Just because I'm eagerly awaiting. [emoji12]
-
I hope it's a night sight:
1. with Trijicon tritium vials (NOT Meprolight).
2. that fits onto a standard CZ75 rear dovetail regardless of what the rear step down is on the slide (so it fits standard CZ75s, SPs and the Rami).
3. is relatively snag-free for concealed carry.
We already have LSA target sights and Novak adjustable sights, but they require altering the rear dovetail.

Problem has been finding someone that can produce the prototypes, and carry this into production, at a reasonable price. The vendors we typically use are running wide open to keep up with their normal deliveries. They have no production slot available, simply because they are the best at what they do and everyone what's to use them. Lucky for CGW we are "in" with such talented vendors.
I have a very connected CZ Forum member helping CGW with a source, plus CGW discussed a possible source with one or our primary vendors just yesterday.

Thanks for the update Schmeky. We understand that perfection takes time, and appreciate it. [emoji6]
-
Schmecky, good things are worth waiting for. Looking forward to these sights.
-
Very intrigued by this. Will come back to check on it. If you need someone to test this in the field.... Hit me up. :)
-
Should have a pre-production prototype CGW adjustable rear sight for proofing in early March 2015. Things are moving along. We'll keep you posted.

Nice. Can't wait. :)

Just an update:
CGW adjustable rear sight version 1 will be making machining chips this week on a pro-production prototype.
We have different version 2 we are working on as well. Should have some news on this one in a week or so.
-
Awesome!!! Schmeky, I know it's a surprise, but can you tell us the difference between version 1 & version 2??
-
Thanks for the update Schmeky. Looking forward to them.
-
I know you guys are really busy David. Just a little bump[emoji6].
-
We are still working on it. Have an EDM shop that can wire the pieces and do in house heat treat. We are waiting on pre-production pricing and should know something any day now.
-
Wow!! As usual, fast and precise response[emoji2] Thanks for the quick feedback Schmeky. This is like waiting for X-mas[emoji2]

+1 on this. Looking forward to seeing what you have come up with.

Damm, and i just ordered one from Dawson's. I guess I'll just have to replace it when this one comes out.
-
sounds great! I was just browsing the website for a new rear and this is welcomed news! can't wait.
-
is this in production, stock yet

Not yet. But i believe progress is being made.
-
Well David, I haven't bugged you for awhile[emoji2] I know you're really busy. I'm just checking in[emoji6]

What an ordeal. However, we have become one of Dawson Precisions bigger accounts, and this means we have a little pull (not much). So I have requested Dawson make their adjustable sight that everyone seems to rave about, to fit the CZ.
I was given a thumbs up this week on this request, but won't happen until this fall sometime. In the meantime, we are still waiting on the EDM shop to produce our 30 prototypes of our CGW sight.
We are pushing hard, never going to give up until we have a superb adjustable sight, one way or the other.
-
As always, thank you for the feedback Schmeky. Great news on the Dawson, but I still look forward to the CGW sight.
