Title: Who does the slide milling for 91159?
Post by: 2morechains on November 16, 2014, 08:51:18 PM
Stuart or Angus,
If you guys don't mind me asking, who does the LPA cut for the Shadow-Target models (i.e. 91159)? Does the slide come from CZ-UB or CZ-USA with the slide already milled for the LPA, or is this something that CZ Custom does?  I recognize that if somebody wants a different model with a LPA adjustable rear sight you guys can do it, but specific to the Shadow-Target or SP-01 Shadow-Target who does the mill work on the slide?

Reason I ask, there seems to be some contention in the IDPA ranks about a "non-OEM" entity milling the slide to accept the LPA adjustable rear sight cut.  As a result, the rumors are the Shadow-T's are going to be deemed not legal when the new rulebook comes out.

The Oct 3, 2014 IDPA rules clarification refers to something called the Accu-Target.  Not sure if that was a typo (should have said Shadow-Target) or if they are referring to the Accu-Shadow that has the LPA rear sight.

Thanks (or if you prefer I can PM you).

That's not a misprint.  The ACCU-Shadow versions have a 1911-type barrel bushing installed with closer tolerances replacing the press fit bushing to improve accuracy.  These are done by the CZ Custom Shop.

Hey guys, this is just a simple inquiry, nothing more.  I didn't intend for this to be another discussion on IDPA vs ____.   Plenty of other places to discuss the virtue of different gun games.

If Stuart or Angus would rather not publicly answer the question I can understand and respect that.

Cheers
