I just picked up a surplus CZ 75 BD on gunbroker and I noticed that there seems to be a little bit of peening around the firing pin hole on the slide where the hammer makes contact. I see some corresponding peening on the edges of the hammer face as well.
This is a 1999 model and has the older style ring hammer.
Is this anything to be concerned with? The peening does not seem to be impacting firing pin movement.

Not sure what could have caused that
A well fired Pistol I'm guessing
You can always pull the Pin and bevel / crown that area of the Pin Channel and stone / polish the Hammer Face a tiny bit

So I went out to my dad's house where I have some of my other CZs stored and noticed a few more observations.
I also have a CZ 75 Compact that has this older style hammer and it has some similar peening around the firing pin hole, but not to the extent that this one does.
It looks like these older hammers have a shorter "face" than the new style ring hammers. The top of the "face" of the newer hammers hit the slide much higher than the older hammers.
I'm feeling better about this now and I feel that this peening is probably self-limiting and should never pose an issue. Maybe this is why CZ changed the design of their ring hammers 10 years ago or so.

^^Interesting. Thank you for the follow up.

No problem!
I might email CZ in the next day or two to see if i can get a more official answer.
I have a 1994 CZ-85 transitional and a 1994 85 Combat that have these old-style ring hammers, and they show no signs of peening, BUT the pre-b's and 85 Combats use a different firing pin and use a firing pin stop plate unlike the B's. The top of the face of the hammer does not hit the top radius of the firing pin hole on the 85 transitional and the 1994 85 Combat, like it does on this B-series 75 BD.
I'm guessing why there is no documentation on this elsewhere online, is simply because there aren't a whole lot of B-series CZs out there with this style hammer. The B-series came out in '96 I believe? I have a 2001 75 B SAO that uses the new style hammer. So it seems we are looking at only 5 years or so of B-series production that could be affected by this.
