SP01 has been approved for sale in CA, now you are all going to ask which version, I am not absoultly sure but think the SA DA, may even have been both.
We are now waiting for DOJ to update the list and for supplies to arrive.

PS I wil also post but both versions of the Tactical Sport have also been approved. Again awaiting CA DOJ list update

SB 489 (Stats. 2003, ch. 500) (Scott) (2003 bill - Provisions are operative beginning 1/1/2006)
Requires that effective January 1, 2006, no semiautomatic centerfire pistol model may be added to the roster of handguns certified for sale in California unless it has a chamber load indicator or, if it has a detachable magazine, a magazine disconnect mechanism. Also effective January 1, 2006, no rimfire semiautomatic pistol that has a detachable magazine may be added to the certified list of handguns for sale in California unless it has a magazine disconnect mechanism. Handgun models that have been placed on the roster prior to the new requirements becoming operative may remain on the roster without these features (PC 12126, 12130).

Excellent question. Here is the text from the DOJ website:
"Penal Code (PC) sections 12132(h)(3) and 12276.1(c)(3) exempt certain qualifying competitive Olympic pistols from the unsafe handgun provisions of Penal Code section 12125, et seq., and the assault weapon provisions of Penal Code section 12275, et seq. In addition to pistols specifically identified in the statutes, the Department of Justice (DOJ) is authorized to exempt pistols based on recommendations from USA Shooting, the national governing body for international shooting competition in the United States. The Roster of Exempted Olympic Competition Pistols established by the Department of Justice pursuant to Section 995 of Chapter
13.7 of Title 11of the California Code of Regulations identifies all of the Olympic pistols that are exempt from the unsafe handgun and assault weapon provisions."
I guess if we could get the Shadow listed as an "Olympic" firearm, things would be cool. I doubt that will happen. I think the best bet is to have Angus "Shadowize" a stock SP-01. He seems to be doing OK with his.
