Well, I finally got my new pistol. Action comes in at 7.75DA, 3.25SA according to the paperwork. Here are the obligatory pics. I took her to the range today, report is in the "Day at the range" section.(http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm232/cdacunha/P1040681.jpg)
CZC was great to do business with. My serials don't match on the slide and frame, but she shoots well.

Congrats. Was about to say "What, no picture?" Then bam!! There it was. She's a looker [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41]

Nice! The two-tone looks great! ;D

The "two-tone" is actually just Cerakoted. The color is not quite what I was expecting (silver), but I like it more than what I was anticipating. It's has a very slight bronze to it - almost a titanium color. I am very happy with the coating. I can't find any issues or inconsistencies in the coating at all.
-
Congratulations on a gorgeous pistol!
-
I really like the look of a two tone, maybe one day....

Looks great, i wouldn't change a thing. You even got the aluminum mag bases, nice touch.

Nice! I got mine a few weeks ago, more or less same gun (different rear sight and mine is all black). DA/SA trigger pulls were the same as yours until I changed the 13 lb hammer spring out for an 11.5 lb spring. DA trigger pull dropped almost a pound. Almost 500 rnds since the change and not one light strike.

That is a sweet looking pistol. Congrats!

This is real nice..

So, I just did a little work on my pistol.
Complete disassembly, and polish - CZC had already done a good job and polished the major areas, and the minor areas didn't need much. The only thing I felt really needed a little buffing was the underside of the sear, and the small rails under the trigger bar. I used 1500, followed by some red rouge on a felt wheel (dremel). I could feel the difference with my fingernail before and after, but there was still some of the original coating on both, so I doubt I removed much if any metal. All parts were cleaned and lubed. There had been some uneveness/friction that I narrowed down to the trigger bar rails and sides on the DA pull, the lube and polish seem to have removed all of that.
Trigger, pin and spring - The trigger pin was REALLY in there. This required some serious work to get out. A few punches and some frustration later, all is well. I managed to remove it without marring the finish. I swapped in the old style 85c trigger and CGW's floating pin and lighter return spring. The pin really does "float". I can push it back and forth fairly easily with just my finger, anyone else have the pin and have similar experience? I can't push it all the way out without a bit more effort, but it is a little concerning that it moves...
Results:
Original DA/SA: 7lbs 13oz, 3lbs 5oz
New DA/SA: 6lbs 8oz, 2lbs 6oz.
This was measured with a Lyman digital trigger gauge, and averaged. It has a 13# main, and 11# recoil spring. This is a pretty remarkable difference with just a little polishing, lube, and a new TRS. I ran the gauge maybe 20 times because I didn't quite believe it. The feel of the DA pull is super slick now, I am very happy.

Love that 2 tone look. I do that on my 75b nickel and 75b glossy blue once and awhile just for kicks. Look good in either combo. Should try the look of my polished stainless with glossy upper.
Thanks for the nice picks and the returning ideas. Us OFs need mental nudge once and a while.

Good deal, glad you got the trigger pin out.

It is normal, the tension of the trigger return spring keeps it from sliding out too far. On the multiple CZ's i have the floating trigger pins installed in, they tend to settle, protruding out one side more than the other. I have yet to have one slip out.

Thanks Tok. I gained a little confidence in some dry fire drills last night, but knowing it really is supposed to float helps.

I've wondered if "catalog" custom pistols truly received the full custom build treatment...
Burlycz, thank you for your detailed post. I can't get enough data when I read about the work being done. I was somewhat surprised to see the significant 1# drop in SA and further 1/2# in DA you obtained through additional polishing, polishing on the sear and TRS. You also pointed out that CZC left some felt unevenness and friction in the trigger pull. Would you say that the CZ Custom job was not to the level you would expect if further work was needed to remove the feel issues?

BDG,
I am happy with the work that CZC did, and they certainly did everything that was listed on the listed item. However, I think there is always fine tuning that can be done - to expect them to do absolutely everything may be a bit unreasonable, as they would probably hit diminishing returns on what they are charging vs. time spent. I used Schmeky's and other posts on tuning/polishing and didn't think everything needed to be done except for what I commented on. All in all, I only spent an additional hour or so to get that improvement (if you don't count that godforsaken trigger pin removal) and I probably would have gotten the same improvement with just the trigger spring and lots of dry-firing. I was just a little impatient and I like to take things apart to better understand their function.

Understood.
Thank you for the follow up.

Went to the range yesterday with my son. Pistol functioned perfectly, 200+ rounds and not a single issue. It was quite cold, and quite windy (40F, 10-15mph) but my better groups were 2-3" at 10yds. Son also shot well (6" groups), although he is a bit behind me in practice.
After field stripping, cleaning and relubing, I swapped in the 11.5# CGW hammer/main spring. Dropped my DA pull another lb. SA was unaffected. SO it is sitting at about 5.5lbs (5lbs. 9oz) DA, 2.5lbs (2lbs. 6oz) SA. I don't think I want any lighter, so I am done tweaking and extremely happy with the modifications and results.
What a great platform the CZs are (especially after the CZC treatment)...Now I just need to decide on what CZ is next.
