Title: Tritium sight options
Post by: Spetsnaz on March 26, 2006, 04:58:33 PM
So I was reading on 10-8forums.com that when doing a side by side comparison, Meprolight sights dont glow nearly as bright as a lot of other tritium sights.

I was wondering what other options for tritium night sights are available for the CZ-75 SP-01?

XS Sight Systems offers their Big Dot and Std Dot night sights for the CZ-75/85, but they require filing the front sight to accept the cross pin....Whatever that means...

I read in one of my gun porn rags that TruGlo offers their TFO (Tritium fiber optic) sights for the CZ-75, but it doesnt say so on their website.

Trijicon also offers a set for dovetailed front CZ-75's.

Has anybody tried any of these other brands?  Are there any other high quality options available?

I have installed nearly every type of tritium sight in existance and I have always thought Meprolights were consistantly the brightest.

LOL.  Been there, done that.   PTs are a last resort, and then only if you're really pressed for money.

(While not the best, they do have a good warranty, and they do honor it if you have problems.)

I have Mepolights on both of my SP-01's.  CZ very nicely drilled the front sight base on one -- I prepped the other with a file.  I was surprised by the quality of the Mepro's, and they're backed by a good warranty.  I previously preferred and used primarily Trijicons.

You really can't go wrong with the Trijicons or Mepro's; but to make life simpler, go with the predrilled/slotted front sight base.  Removing the factory rear sights was a pain.  Maybe you'll have an easier time.

I have the Tri's on my .40 and Sp-01. I like them. They are plenty bright.

I have the factory nightsights on mine for now and I'm happy enough with them.  Anyone know who makes em?

Factory sights can be Meprolights or PTs.  There should be a marking of some kind on them (Tru-Dot, I think) if they're Meprolights.

Yes, my sights has those markings (SP01 with 3 railcuts).
