Title: SAR k2p 9mm recoil spring
Post by: Boriqua on January 18, 2015, 04:57:09 PM
I recently purchased a SAR k2p and am VERY happy so far with this gun. I haven't owned a 9mm in a very long time and it has functioned flawlessly for its first 350 rds, points naturally and I think it looks darn pretty. I have taken to carrying it as my daily. I know I shouldn't question engineers with far more education and experience than I have but .. that double recoil spring setup looks destined for failure. Has anyone tried to replace it with a variable rate single spring. If so what did you get?

I've not had to replace my recoil Spring on my SAR K2P as yet, but if I did, I would try to stick with the stock setup as it works so well.  If those factory springs were not available, I would try the stock springs for a 9mm Witness Compact or equivalent.

How many rounds do you have without issue JWC007 and where are you buying backup parts. If the setup works then I dont need to change it but I sure like having backup parts around for replacement.

I've only got about a 1000 rounds downrange thru it, as I've carried it more than I've shot it.  I'm sure it's broken in and not broken.
Actually, I've not had any feeding or functional issues so I don't believe it really needed any break in

I've not bothered to buy any backup parts as yet, plus I have many whole backup Pistols.

Lately, I've been shooting my Tanfoglio/Armscore/RIA MAP1 MS (Mid-Size) as that Pistol needs to be broken in, plus I've been carrying other handguns as of late.
I've got a lot of other projects going on and my SAR K2P just has not needed any attention, for which I am quite grateful.
