I'm very pleased with the CZ83 I 'won' on GB SuperBowl weekend. It had no reserve and a low start, with a very reasonable Buy It Now. First I just bid on it, but that low of a buy it now bugged me, someone would have nabbed it if I didn't, so I did! It came with one mag, but no box or paperwork, and for as much as I can tell, it hasn't been fired outside the factory! This pistol looks pristine! I'll see if I can upload some photos...

It's not working with my browser or something, but you can click the links and see. I'll try and upload more from the internals too, see if you think it's been shot much. I can't wait to take it to the range this weekend!
Thanks for looking!

Great looking pistol.

NICE. Wife shot it yet? Should be light recoil and looks great.

No wife (passed away). GF is getting a Bersa so I used that as an excuse to get the CZ83, dies and shellplate ;^)
Range time tomorrow!

I can't see the pics, but that could just be my phone. Anyway, you're going to love it - the 83 has the nicest DA/SA trigger I've ever felt, and the nickel is just plain pretty.
The one thing I don't like is the grips are a bit wide for me, but obviously that can be rectified rather easily.

Nice pistol

Painter I wish my browser would cooperate with pictures, so thanks for your help! I can't wait for morning (might get up to 15-20 before lunch) to shoot this fine thing! I am hesitant to undo its new, but it's not a museum piece!
I found a leather shoulder holster rig for CZ83 and similar on amazon, and posted a link in the 'what holsters' sticky. I ordered one. Maybe a dozen left. At $20+shipping they won't last long. Old stiff and may need some elastic tailoring, but if you're handy it might be a great start for you.

Happy to help.
Flickr is a bit cumbersome to use sometimes.
If you click quote on my post you'll see what the link looks like.
There is a share button in flickr that needs to be used to get the pic you want to display. You can't use the link in the address bar.

Very nice! What did that set you back? I just bought my first 82. I have an 83, and an 83 in 7.65. I think the satin 83 must be an eventual addition to my collection, just as I had to get an 82.

$350 + $25 ship + $20 FFL so $395. I'm pleased, it's in like-new (as in unfired) condition. No box or papers, no problem as I don't foresee parting with it. The nickel plating is in fantastic shape with just a bit of darkening on the rear right of the slide. It's been MiliTech-ed now so shouldn't oxidize or discolor any more.
It has 100 rds now, would be more but the slide stop spring was bent so it would hold open unexpectedly. It's fixed now.
What a pleasant shooter! The 380 factory loads are like nothing on recoil, closer to a .22 than 9mm I'm thinking. The girlfriend likes shooting it so that's a plus. (She's going to get a Bersa Thunder soon). She likes shooting my .22LR but not my 9s so much, so this will get her accustomed to a viable self defense pistol. Every time she shoots (anything) she likes it more and is considering taking a carry class and getting her permit, so she has a measure of safety when walking in her neighborhood. That was kind of the whole point of my getting into .380, but I like this CZ83 enough that that should have or could have been all the excuse I need!
You see, the shell plate and dies, bullets, and used casings set me back a bit too, but 380 is worth reloading for what they charge for a box these days. Her getting a 380 alone wasn't enough to get me to add the additional caliber reloading parts, but having one myself made it more acceptable. I'm just glad I'd missed the $239 CW380 Kahr that was on sale over the Holidays! That would fit in a pocket but not be fun to shoot! I like the fun part of shooting. That's why I like CZs so much.

Congratulations! I'm glad you're enjoying your gun, and you got a phenomenal deal. I paid $450 for my LNIB nickel, and I see them sell on Gunbroker for $500+ all the time.

$400 for mine plus fees, included box n all about 2 months ago. Love it.

WI75,
It appears your 83 was manufactured about 1997, given the Oakhurst, CA location given for CZ-USA -- http://cz-usa.com/company/about-cz-usa/. Is yours marked as caliber 9 Browning like Zardoz's? For at least the last couple of years of their production they were marked, rather redundantly, as 9 Browning Court. (Court is French for short, but the 9 Browning Long, which was out-competed by the 9 Luger, has been defunct for quite some time.)
-
9 Browning and yes '97, the only year they were in CA, stamped '97. Love it.
-
There can't be very many 83s configured like yours. Very nice specimen.
What part of America's dairyland are you in? I grew up in the west-central part, near Eau Claire.

I had no idea CZ-USA once had their headquarters in Oakhurst. That's less than 20 miles from my house. Wish they were still there. :(
