Picked up a Mini 30 Tactical model yesterday afternoon. I didn't like the factory stock, too slick for my taste. Installed a Hogue over molded Ghillie Green stock and a Weaver K4 Classic scope. Ran a few rounds to confirm bore site and zero the scope. First thought was: oh sh!t this things got problems. Tried 20 rounds of Wolf MPA poly coated steel case 123gr FMJ, 5 fail to fire, 2 fail to extract and a 6 inch 50 yard group. Very unhappy. Next tried 20 of Silver Bear 123gr Zinc plated steel case HP, 100% function and 2 inch 50 yard groups, stepped back to 100 yards and got 3 inch groups with 20 more trouble free rounds. Much better, next up 20 rounds of S&B 123gr brass case FMJ, 2 1/2 inch 100 yard groups. Getting better, tried 20 of Federal Fusion 123gr BTSP 2 inch groups, good enough for hunting out to the max I'd use this rifle, 175 yards. Last and most accurate Hornady steel cased 123gr SST, 1 1/2 inch, I need to try this ammo out on a hog or other non game animal. I hope it's usable for hunting, it's accurate and very clean. All shots were from a sandbag front rest and unsupported butt.
