Title: RIGHT SLIDE RELEASE REPLACEMENT
Post by: Jimmybeamer on March 06, 2015, 06:17:21 AM
Well i ran into another problem. My right slide release broke. I bought a new one. How do I insert the new one? Any advice or demonstration videos I couldn't find any online. Your help is always appreciated

The slide stop spring retains the r/h slide stop. You either need to lift the spring from the slot in the slide stop, or remove it.

It's too fat to push in from the outside.  I see there is a pin must I knock that out? In order to insert?

Ahh...

I've read they did make a change in the diameter.

Do you have an 85B or an 85 Combat, and what year?

If the l/h slide stop fits in the r/h I believe you're going to have to have the frame bored to fit the new part. It was a problem on the early pistols. I have a 96 Combat with the early style slide stop spring and I'm afraid I'll have the same situation if mine breaks.

Maybe Stuart or schmecky or 75Plus will check in to confirm.
