My better half gave me permission to purchase a new benchrest. I have researched this for a couple of months and based on some posts on RFC(Rimfire Central) that were very complimentary of the the Bald Eagle brand of benchrest from Grizzly products (link is below). I chose the Bald Eagle Rest, Slingshot, Cast Iron and it should be at my house by the end of the week. Also Czech out the RFC for the thread on the "Bald Eagle flew in today".

Thanks all for the nice comments about the benchrest. I was incorrect on the date of delivery; Grizzly sent me an email and it stated that the rest shipped yesterday (3/30) via UPS ground. After checking the progress with the UPS tracking number, the rest should arrive at my home on 4/1/15. I am stoked.

on 4/2/15. Assembly done on 4/3/15. This is the slingshot cast iron model and I must say it is very heavy. I really like the looks of this rest. Adjusting the windage cradle to perpendicular was a bit of a challenge. One thing to note is that with the windage knob near the rear of the rest at perpendicular the cable is put into tension and may cause the windage cable to not be perpendicular. This may cause the windage adjustment to be bumpy and the cable to "flop" when turning the knob. In the photos the windage knob is perpendicular; with a little experimentation I found that the best angle for the knob is about 45 degrees to perpendicular. This position relieved the pressure on the windage cradle to go off perpendicular and made the movement of the windage cradle smoother.

Overall, I am pleased so far with the purchase of this benchrest.
