Title: Need help choosing scope mount for 455 trainer

I have pretty much narrowed my scope choice to either the Redfield Battlezone 2x7 or the Nikon P also 2x7. Both are about 11.5" in length and have a 44mm ocular bell. Because it's a Trainer I'll have to clear the rear sight with whatever mounts I go with. I've priced some Talley tall rings, the CZ rings, and also som Leupold rings either medium or tall. I can use a little help here because I don't want to pick up rings that won't allow for clearance but also don't want them any taller than necessary.

Thanks for the link. A lot of info there. It looks like I'll need the tall rings and a short scope. Not an issue as I prefer a short scope anyway.
