Title: Replacing sling swivels on 455
Post by: gryphon on June 01, 2015, 01:24:57 AM
Sorry if this is a stupid question but I'm pretty new to CZ's. I'd like to replace the sling swivels on my Trainer with some quick detachable ones. What kind of problems am I ging to run into. I'm guessing any threads or pin sizes are going to be metric and not match up to anything I buy. Or am I wrong about this.

Hey gryphon,

I got Uncle Mike's Quick Detachable Fore End Band Style Sling Swivels and they work well for quick disconnects yet are threaded so they stay locked:

Note: I only use the swivels themselves since I don't want to mess with the factory screw base units on the stock.

And the swivels fit the factory studs okay?

They were initially too tight, so I made the stud loop holes a little bit wider. 1-minute fix.

Edit: BTW, the one I got was for 1-inch slings.  If you need 1 1/4" this one will work:

Great thanks. So how'd you open 'em up. Just run a slightly oversized drill bit through?

Exactly.  I also smoothed the enlarged hole by rolling some sandpaper into a thin cylinder, then added a drop of oil.

I am going to do something similar. Thanks for the guidance.

Is it too much to ask to post some pictures from various angles so we understand the fit and tolerances ?

Many thanks in advance
