Okay, long story. I bought a SP01 Shadow Custom a couple of months ago to take to Gunsite last week. When I first bought it, I had several fail to fire malfunctions. I converted it to SAO and replaced the hammer spring with a 13lb spring, and I replaced the firing pin with an extended version. All parts from CGW. I also bought a CZ 75b Shadow that I rigged in exactly the same way. I tested both guns with a couple hundred rounds before going to Gunsite.
At Gunsite I started experiencing fail to fire malfunctions again with the SP01. I switched from Remington ammo to Federal and had even more problems. i switched to my backup - the 75b - and never had another problem.
CGW's site claims the setup I put in the SPO1 would ignite "any primer on the planet." The same setup in the 75b worked flawlessly. What besides the firing pin and the hammer spring could cause fails to fire? Thoughts?

Are the primers showing a good strong hit or a slight.weak hit?

Unfortunately, there's no way to know. Gunsite rules are that you don't pick up live ammo from the ground, so I never got to see the primer.
