I know the spec width on the P-07 should be a little too wide for the IDPA CCP box. Has anyone actually tried it?
-
I happen to have a box - if you are in western Wa, we can link up to try. PM me if so

Thanks for the offer but I do not currently own a P07. I was asking with the thought of buying one.

I am going to shoot my P-07 in an IDPA match On Sunday. I will check the gun in the box and report back.

Thanks, Frank.

Well before the match today I asked the MD if I could check my P-07 in the box with CCP spacer installed. I put it in the box and the lid slammed perfectly. This is with decock levers not safties on the gun.
I have known and shot with this MD for a long time and also worked major match set ups with him quite often. He made the inserts. He is a former Military and airline pilot and is one of the most detail oriented person I know(almost to a fault) so I trust his box.
I measured my gun with digital calipers and it is over the allowed width but it fits in the box. I am not sure what to make of this but will check with another box just to see when I can.

Thanks, Frank. That is very helpful information.
-
Frank, i've seen you also own a P-02. Does that fit in the ccp box?
-
I had to file the right side safety down to get it under the specified IDPA width, but I never tried it in a box before filing and wonder if it might have fit as it was.

Thanks!

Last night at our local match I tried my P-07 in a box with inserts from the IDPA store.
The box lacked about 1/16" of closing. It is so close and the box tolerances are so different, I would be afraid to take a chance at a sanctioned match of it passing.

Frank,
Is the safety narrower or wider than the decocker?
-
I have the decockers and I would guess they are thinner but I have not verified it.

The rules allow you to hold the box lid closed with "light" pressure. I wouldn't mind filling down my safety levers a bit and shooting it as an ESP in CCP gun. Not sure I want to cut down the decocker...
-
I tried it with an official IDPA box, and the spacers that IDPA sent to the club.
It fits fine, and the lid closes completely. With the tolerance specs, I have no doubt that you could hold the lid closed if a box was tighter. The tolerance is that the box can be only 1/16" larger than any dimension, there is no acceptable tolerance difference on the lower side.
The lid is a little wonky, but I flipped it around with the levers inside and it looked the same.

Thanks, Daytona. I appreciate the pic and the effort.
