Title: CZ 83 in 380acp need to slam the magazine home

Hello all,

I recently purchased a CZ 83 in 380 ACP on Gunbroker. As I live in Maryland, I had to purchase it without the magazines. I purchased a 10 round magazine from Midway. I find I have to really slam the butt of the magazine to get it to lock. Is this normal? Anything I can do to improve the situation?

First step in the diagnosis is to remove both of the plastic stocks and try the magazine for fit.  Often times there is a place on one (or both) where you can take a file or some sandpaper to gently knock down a high spot on the plastic that is dragging on the magazine.

A drop or two of oil to lube the (occasionally troublesome) magazine catch assembly may also help.
