I'm told the first batch of BREN 805 pistols has finally made it in...and we should see them in the wild soon.
-
Ooooo! Now, if they can follow up soon with the rifle [emoji4]
-
I asked, no info yet.

Facebook Scorpion page shows a few out for sale, AND I hear CZ Custom might have a few 805 pistols for sale. I need to go donate blood plasma... :o ;D

It sure is neat though! I'm hoping that if the popularity increases then the production numbers will make it more affordable.
-
I handled a 805 pistol at a gun show today, they also had a scorpion.
-
What did you think?
-
My first impression of the 805 was it was heavy and rigid.
It looks pretty and I have to walk away real quick to prevent impulse purchase.
-
They're here and pretty awesome guns. Here is a personal project.

Impressive 1st post!!!!!!!
-
one enjoyable aspect of the Bren is definitely the trigger. factory is great and about 3.5-4 lbs. and with a little bit of file magic can be brought down to around 2-2.5 without changing any spring weights. also for those who are more extremely adventurous the reset distance can be made identical to your typical 75 shadow. not shown in the previous picture is the straight trigger mod I have done as that picture is a month or so old now.
-
Welcome Bison World - where are you? That 805 looks like it's been used a bit! :) I'd love to get an 805 and SBR it when the compliance kit comes out so it can be 922(r) compliant. When I handled the 14 inch select fire version at SHOT 2015, it felt perfect. Now to get one in 6.5 Grendel. :D
-
not too much use as of yet, those are mostly finger prints you see, I'll try to get a better picture. I should have a 6.5 barrel done for it by the end of the year, will also be experimenting with a few other calibers. May also do some work with the original bren mags as they can use a longer OAL cartridge than standard STANAG magazines. oh and that rifle is currently 922(R) compliant 8)
-
I like the 6.5 as being in the middle of 5.56mm and 7.62x39mm, and if I ever get another 7.62x39mm CZ 527M, I will re-barrel it to 6.5mm Grendel. Got a gunsmith out here who can do that. :) I would love a BREN 805 SBR someday, when I can afford the pistol, compliance kit AND the tax stamp. That will be awesome.

figured I'd take some more ipotato pictures of how the rifle currently sits. Pardon my awful photo taking. (http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t494/BisonWorld/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zpslstutwsl.jpg)

You DO realize the jealousy quotient here is sky high, right? :D
-
hey now, any good machinist or gunsmith should be able to build one with a manual mill, lathe, files, and a belt sander. I won't spill the beans on exactly how I made and modified certain parts just yet as figuring it out is really half the fun. I'll probably eventually do a build thread sometime in the future after I have finished up a few more calibers.

$1689 Cash Price (WTM)

That's even better if doing cash.
But w/ your standard 1% cashback card, Schuyler runs ~$1680... Schuyler does charge for shipping whereas Buds usually doesn't... So probably a wash unless you have >1.5% cash back card.

"Clearance"? That's interesting.
BisonWorld I have a local gunsmith who could probably do it if he had time...some of the guns he's rebuilt have been VERY interesting. :) And yes, we'd love to see some real CZ gunsmithing picture threads here. :D
-
This was in my inbox yesterday:
http://www.kygunco.com/cz-805-bren-ps1-223-556-11in-matte-black-30rd-pistol-82542
$1,637.69 retail
$1,589.99 cash
-
And me without my winning lottery ticket...dagnabbit. On the other hand it would be insane if we had enough donations to buy one for a Christmas giveaway.

If he needs any pointers have him pm me sometime. I'll probably do a picture thread toward the end of the year.

He did this custom stock for my CZ 527M;

That's a spare mag holder in the butt that I asked him to design in. :)
-
Nice stock and idea. Did the 'smith re-enforce the pistol grip?
-
Yes, it has a rod through the middle of the grip to make sure it's sturdy.
-
My cousin has his bren SBRed and has the factory stock. One of the very few civilians in the country to have it. Its qute a looker and shooter. Im still waiting on my EVO stock to get here... who knows when the bren compliance kit will be available. Im probably just going to wait this one out, I hate waiting on the kit for the evo its a PITA

slightly better picture. I have my factory barrel around somewhere, I haven't used it too much since rebarreling.

from a Czech person. I'm sure CZ-USA will end up selling them to the public someday just like the scorpion stocks though.
