Title: CZ455 .17HMR with Varmint barrel

I have zero experience with CZ rifles so I'm asking for opinions here. I know a person wanting to sell one of these with 300rds down the pipe and the wood stock looks to be in great condition. I'm trying to justify this purchase to the wife, so I'm up against great odds. Seller is asking $300 and from the pics, it looks new. Thanks for your input.

If I was looking for a rifle in 17 HMR I'd buy it at that price. Even if it's a dog you'll recover the price of the rifle, and if you want a project there are A/M barrels available.

For that price, I would buy it regardless.  If you don't like it, you won't have any trouble getting your money back.

Yup. I like 22 mag and have one in the 455 varmint. I don't have any use fr a 17hmr, but Id buy I for that price. If anything, just too try 17.  That seems pretty cheap really. Re-selling it should be easy if you don't like it. Theyre about $450 new. The 455 varmint is the most accurate rimfire platform Ive ever seen.

Buy it, you'll love it! I have a 452 varmint, on a calm day I can shoot bottle caps at 100 yards

Buy it. If you decide you want a .22 they can be found on RFC at a very decent price for a used one. especially since so many people are going to the Lilja barrel.

I picked up a very nice 455 varmint in 22 a couple days ago.  Have not had a chance to shoot it yet, but am sure it will be fine.   Going to mount a Weaver V-16 on it.

Colorado, I have a 455 17hmr varmint heavy barrel and it is a great shooter. I just purchased a 22lr varmint heavy barrel for and just recently swapped the 17hmr for the 22lr. The 22lr barrel shoots as good as my other 22lr rifles (453 American and 452 Full Stock). Rifle barrel interchangeability; you can buy another barrel (22lr or 22 win mag) for the 455 platform and might be a selling point to your wife.

Brilliant piece of engineering I say they are awesome I have 22 and 17 in a military trainer which is similar to the lux not heavy barrel and it shoots better than i expected
