I'm in the market for a compact cz for concealed carry and I am finding myself unable to decide.
I had more or less settled on a p07 not finding any real reason why it would be a bad choice. But after discussing with the wife who had commandeered my sp01 tactical not to long back (and whom has a moral objection to polymer), has offered to pay the difference of getting a p01 or similar as incentive not to buy the p07.
Now that being said, I'm not going to spend my wife's money just because she offered, but the option is there should I choose to take it.
So I ask you all, which is the better beat around carry gun in your opinion? If you happen to have both, any size comparison pics would be appreciated as I have only handler the p07 thus far.
Thanks

Well I just had a very similar decision between the 75 Compact and a P-07. I have never been much of a polymer fan but I've read nothing but good about the P-07 and had a chance to handle one and liked the way it felt. Today I took a trip to a dealer that had a 75 Compact and fell in love. I would like the P-01 should feel very similar, slightly heavier up front since it has the rail.
I don't think you can go wrong but one thing that folks clued me into that I hadn't though of is my SP-01 mags will work in the 75 Compact.

I've had 2 P07s both went away, 2 P01s have a long term home in the safe. I just flat out shoot the P01 better.

Does anyone have a pic of p 07 and p01 on top of each other?
The p07 grip while comfortable is about as short as I'd want, and while I like the ergos of the 75, if the p01's grip is any shorter than the p07 it might be a deal breaker for me.

The P01 can also take your SP01 magazines.. The P07, to the best of my knowledge, cannot. This was a deciding factor for me when I chose the P01. Have not looked back...
Cheers

I added a mag extension to my 07, otherwise my pinky hangs off. No such problem with my 01. I like the 07 a lot, love love love the 01. The 01 slide is a bit narrower, and the 01 is about an ounce lighter by my digital scale. I would buy the 01 now for its compatibility with the SP. Overall I think it's the better weapon. You can always find local deals on second hand (mine) p-07s.

As a side observation, your name isn't Fisty McBeefpunch by any chance is it? That's a helluva grip to not fit on on a P07.
As for the OP, the P01 feels nicer and more substantial in every way. I attribute it to being all metal vs polymer, but nonetheless it has that felt quality to it.

I was in this same boat. I found a good deal on a used CZ P01 with 3 mags. Pretty happy with my decision.

Well, it doesn't completely hang off. It is just barely on there though. I noticed it the first time I held one. No such problem with the 01, factory 14 rounder and rubber base are perfectly comfortable. As for my hands being overly large, I dunno. I will say though, that the 97 feels pretty comfortable in hand to me.
The P-07 didn't feel great to me, but I took it in on trade to unload a Walther P99 that I loved until I shot the P-01. I thought I was done with polymers, Then the 07 shot much better than I expected so I decided to keep it. I still didn't like the grip so I added a Talon rubberized wrap and now I love it. But not as much as the 01 ;-)

I have owned and shot both. Wbhile the P01 felt better being metal, I liked to P07 better in the sense that the polymer 'absorbed' the recoil better for me, and it was slightly more accurate than the P01. They are both more accurate than most shooters, but still, there was a difference that I could see. Either is a winner, but I would select the P07 if I were to purchase again.

I have both, well a P-02, not a P-01, and I find the trigger to be better on the P-02. Not that the trigger is bad on the P-07, but the SA on the P-02 is crisper with less takeup and less mush. I don't have enough rounds through the P-07 for it to be broken in yet (less than 500), but they are both awesome choices.
The P-07 fits my meathooks better than the P-02, and that is with the large backstrap in place

Here are the pictures you asked for, I forgot I had them.(http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag131/firemanjones1/b0864924b0271908d0aafe2e8521042d_zpsbe9cef70.jpg)

I have both pistols as well and carry one of them on a daily basis. I like them both, shoot both of them well and have found the P-01 to be a bit more comfortable to carry. I carry IWB and usually prefer the P-01 as it's a little slimmer than the P-07.
-
The P-01 is slimmer at the slide and tha P-07 is at the grip.

That depends on the grip panels you use on the P-01. With VZ style G10 grips, my P-02 is slimmer at the grip as well as the slide. I will post some pics when I get home.

That is true.

The 9mm is the more practical option, the .40 costs more to feed, has a higher incidence of breakage, and is harder to shoot well with, the PO1 is the way to go...
My bad, I was thinking of the .40 PO6, nonetheless I'd still opt for the PO1 over the polymer framed PO7, I like having the option to dress up my pistol with nice stuff such as VZ pistol grips ect...
