I'm a huge CZ fan. I love my Cajunized SP01's, which I use for IDPA and USPSA. Now I'm looking for a new carry gun that I can also shoot in BUG matches. The RAMI seems to fit the bill. I handled it today at my LGS, and it certainly felt a lot better in my hands when I used the extended mag. Does anyone know if the RAMI with extended mag fits in the BUG box? Also, I can't seem to find any comparisons on-line between the RAMI and the Sphinx SDP subcompact -- can anyone comment on how they shoot in comparison to one another?

I had both Sphinx just a bit more sophisticated but worth the extra money I don't know. For full disclosure I'm a big Cz fan.I might change my mind with more rounds down range with the Sphinx

This was an interesting read.

Thanks. I really wish I could find a LGS that carried the Sphinx so I could handle it and compare the feel with the RAMI.
If I got the RAMI, I would probably get David to work on it, so the cost difference with the Sphinx would shrink.

So if you like the Rami with the 14 rd magazine why not go with a p01 or pcr as the rami's size advantage vs. these 2 is really lost once you use the 14 rounder?

There is one shop/range within 100 miles of me which is a Sphinx dealer. I tried one, but didn't feel "wow"-ed compared to a 75 Compact. The RAMI BD I bought was less than half the cost of the Sphinx.

Good question. If it was just for carry, I would definitely consider that. However, I would also like something I could shoot in IDPA BUG matches; both the PCR and P01 have 3.8" barrels, and the max for BUG is 3.6" (probably set to prevent CZ's from dominating this competition !!).

I Gotcha, I love my BD. S&W just came out with a upgraded performance center made shield that looks really nice.

There is a Sphinx dealer close to me and I have held the Sphinx sub compact and the sdp. My issue was/is I am looking to replace my 1911 45 as my carry gun and wanted something smaller and with more rounds. Make no mistake about the sphinx is a gorgeous piece of work and just as tight as my custom 45. My only and biggest concern is what happens if it fails and or breaks I have heard to many rumblings about parts not readily available which I don't like. So now my question is a P01 or RAMI either one will come from CGW.

I ended up going with the Sphinx, more based on a "want" than a real "need". I'm sure that the RAMI would have worked great. I mentioned in another thread that after only about 40 rounds I found the SDP to be very ergonomic for me, very pointable, fit/finish was impeccable. My only issue was that the DA felt gritty. I'm going to put a few hundred rounds through it, and then if needed reach out to David to see if he could do some trigger work.
I would also like to mention, as opposed to what I saw in some other threads, that for me the pistol was spot-on accurate. Others had reported that it shot down and to the left from POA, but I did not have that experience.
Thx, JR

I've shot both - the Sphinx was easily a smoother shooter - but the rami - although fat - does reach an almost glock 26 form factor
