I've "shot out" my 453 varmint barrel (approx. 7000 rnds.) and need to replace it. I'm interested in experience and or suggestions of others on doing so.

I'd choose a gunsmith and have him get a Lilja. That said, you could probably replace the rifle for less.

I tried to get a Lilja barrel but all of his 17 barrels have the notch needed for the 455. I did buy a Marlin in 17hmr to finish the season. It shoots surprising well despite a heavy trigger. The thumb hole stock appears to help with that and it cost less than a Lilja barrel. Still prefer the CZ action and trigger however.

Did you contact them about a custom barrel? I know they offer threaded barrels, but almost all require gunsmith fitting.

Thy weren't very interested in doing a custom barrel presently. May be later when they were running a new batch of 17's

That's disappointing to hear. Why put custom options on your website if you only offer them when it's convenient?
