I picked up a CZ 75 BD that the owner had in his safe since new. I paid $350. It was complete with box, cleaning tools, two mags and looks like he had never fired it.
Can any one tell me the year for this one the Serial Number is BX 566? Also was there any problems with these earlier ones? The trigger is smooth as butter, in both DA and SA.

Last 2 numbers of the year are normally stamped in an oval next to the ejection port.

Thanks,
I didn't have my reading glasses with me. However, I did see that oval and couldn't read it. This is my second CZ and it is only the second one that I have ever picked up. Luckily my LGS is not a normally CZ dealer. I also have a Kadet Klub 2 for my PCR compact and I think that it will also work on the 75 BD.
I love my PCR compact and it is my daily carry. I normally have been only purchasing the older all metal PP and PPK Walthers and metal Sigs.
I put the CZ 75 BD on lay-away and will pick it up later. I couldn't take the chance that it would be gone next time I stopped.

Congratulations on your new CZ.

Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. With that serial number BX566, I'm going out on a limb to guess that you'll find that it's a 2001-2002 when you see it next....with your reading glasses (same issue here!). Older Walther PP and PPK pistols are very cool.

I picked it up this morning. It still had the test target DTD 29 Aug 2003. So now I know when it was test fired. It is a 75 B not a BD and it came with one "For law enforcement only" 16 round mag and one looks like a 10 round one. The frame and slide are like new. However the mag looks a little warn and the grips have been changed, I think. I can pickup a couple of 16 round mags for $20 a piece from my LGS.
Thanks for your help.

Enjoy your new bargain! I never find good deals like that, I am so jealous.
