As I'm scrolling gunbroker I see a lot of 83s used listed, some of them are starting as low as $225.
So I'm wondering if there is anything to look out for when buying a used 83. Other then regular wear and scrapes and dings is there a reason these guns would need to be avoided?

Nope.
The guns from Coles are always in better condition than described, and the 83's are great guns even when heavily used. Buy the best one you can afford and dont look back. The only negative is that there is a really good chance it will need a very thorough cleaning. Most were Police guns and some look like they have never seen a cleaning since built.

Thanks for the quick reply, just wanted to be sure they weren't to good to be true. Picking up my PCR next week, if it shoots like it fits in my hand it won't be my last CZ.

I hope this is a dumb question but is it possible some of these guns don't work properly?
-
Sure, that is always a possibility. I have had many come and go over the years, and I did have one that had a worn out trigger bar disconnecter that required replacement. Cost me $9 from CZ to get a replacement and rivet it in.

That summary is very well put.
