Title: P120 Major Issues
Post by: easteros232 on December 10, 2015, 07:51:11 PM
So I just got home from the range and while I was shooting I noticed the action on my P120 had gotten really really sticky. It was still cycling but the action would get hung up when I racked the slide. So I disassembled the pistol to find the barrel bushing missing! After looking around for it, I spot it 15 yards down range. So I'm pretty pissed off everyone has nothing but good things to say about tristar did I just get a lemon? On the bright side it still functioned with no barrel bushing I guess. This thing is going back to tristar ASAP.

On a CZ75 the barrel bushing is held in place by the pin that also holds the front sight in place. I am not sure how it is set up on the P-120. So this dose happen from time to time with CZs as well. At least you did not loose the bushing.

The P-120 bushing is held in with the same pin that holds the front sight in place. It's the same as a CZ75.  Did the pin break or was it never installed?
Most people have had good luck with their Tristars. I agree, call Tristar ASAP and let them know what happened.

Check for feed ramp damage on the barrel as well . Call Tristar and send it back . They will repair or replace the pistol. I had this issue on a Canik Stingray a couple of years ago. Century Arms replaced the pistol . Another option would be be to install one of Cajun Gun Works Canik bushing which will tighten up barrel to slide fit and improve accuracy and polish your barrels feed ramp. If it was me I would install Dave's bushing and a new sight roll pin with red loctite. Dave's Bushings are $35.00 I believe.

I had the same thing happen to my T 120. I couldn't find the bushing though. Sent it back and they replaced the bushing with a black one...my pistol is desert sand. It actually looks cool though. That bushing pin is the weak point on an otherwise 100% reliable pistol.

Wow. That is sad. I'm sure they will take care of you. Let us know how it goes.
