Title: Any idea if a slide from a Bersa Thunder would work on a CZ 83?
Post by: Zach66 on December 13, 2015, 02:20:44 AM
The Bersa slide has a decocker in the safety, I'd love to have a decocker on my CZ 83 and was wondering if anyone owns both guns could check if that Bersa slide would fit and work on the CZ, ESPECIALLY THE DECOCKER.  I'd really appreciate, thanks

Absolutely not!  The mechanisms of the two guns are totally different, as are the dimensions of all of the parts.  Besides, the Bersa has a "series 80" type firing pin block which the CZ doesn't, so the lever in the trigger mechanism that must be there to operate it is different.

It's like a Ford - Chevy thing.  Even though two examples of the cars may look similar, no parts will swap!

De-cocking the CZ is very easy and can be done securely and safely - and it's the way most handguns were made up until very recent times.  Learn the steps and practice them, and follow the safety rules, and you'll do fine.

For another car example:  Let's say you had an opportunity to buy one of two cars - a '67 Mustang or a Toyota Prius.  Would you buy the Prius because the Mustang didn't have anti-lock brakes?
