Title: Stock and safety removal/replacement
Post by: BigTinz on January 28, 2016, 06:38:05 PM
My new folding stock and ambi safety just came in.

How do I remove the safety in my vz2008? The bolt release was no problem, but I can't tell how to remove the safety (no good youtube vids).

Also, the folding stock is being a big pain, and I assume it's got red locktite. What's my best bet?

Rear screw is easy. Use heat like a small torch or lighter and heat up screw from inside receiver.  Use give two wacks with an impact driver fitted with a large flat head socket.
Unscrew.

Safety removal is easy too.  See disassembly video link under "New to vz.58" sticky.

rinse. repeat.

How long would you recommend heating the screw?

30 seconds or so? Just heat it up enough with some sort of torch to cook the loctite a bit.
