Title: FAB 92
Post by: t4terrific on February 04, 2016, 12:46:58 PM
I just picked up this FAB 92 today. I've never heard of them.

I gave $265 for it.

It has Hogue grips, an adjustable rear sight, and looks like someone painted the front sight. The finish is great.

It says EAA Corp on one side, and FAB 92 on the other side.

Is this a decent pistol? Is it worth $265? Are they problematic?

Can anybody tell me about these guns? There isn't a lot of info on them.

You got a good deal on it, provided the Barrel bore is in decent shape.  Looks to be in excellent condition.

Basicly, it's an early Series 88 Tanfoglio Pistol with the Slide mounted Decocker option.  These were imported in limited quantities by EAA for potential sales to the Police Market.
Large quantity Police Sales never happened, so these were sold off to the general market. They are considered rare and potentially collectible.
Yours lacks the original Rear Sight and Grips, so that would impact Collector Value.

Your Pistol is very similar to my Excam imported TA90 Series Pistols, which preceded it. Normally, these Pistols are very durable, accurate, and reliable.

Series 88 Tanfoglio 9mm TA90's, Full Size and Compact.
These have been exceptionally accurate and reliable.

Thanks for all that information!

Do you have any idea where I could get a fixed rear sight for it?

Gun Parts Corp  http://www.gunpartscorp.com/

EAA   http://eaacorp.com/

http://www.poppertsgunparts.com/

There are also some other small Gun Parts houses that may have some.

Not sure, but I can check.  I think that they will.

BTW, I like the Hogue Finger Groove Grips you now have on your FAB 92, and have them on most of my Cz Clone Pistols.

Most regular cut Cz75 Grips will fit well!  The slim cut grips I have for my Cz75 SP01 fit poorly in that they leave more forward grip metal exposed, but they do cover the Magazine Well.
Some aftermarket grips may require fitting, but I've not had to do that.

I agree.

It is both ugly, and flimsy.

I have ordered a fixed rear sight. I'm hoping it fits.

An original fixed sight it $16 at Numrich.  I'll give you $40 for the adjustable if if you don't beat it up during removal.  Let me know...  win308@aol.com
