Title: Probably a Dumb Question...
Post by: GordonF237 on February 10, 2016, 01:14:27 AM
There is nothing that prevents a 10rd. CZ P01 (CA/MA/etc.) from accepting standard (14rd) magazines, right?  It still the same gun, just sold with two 10rd mags instead of 14 rounders.

Yep, just the mags are different.

Not so dumb and yes all t h e way to the 32 rounders but then it's harder to conceal with slight extension beyond 14 rounders.

When I bought the CZ 75 Compact it had a couple 10 round magazines with it.

I promptly ordered the standard capacity magazines available to those of us not living in politically corrupt/oppressive states.  There are multiple sources for these.  I got mine from Midway, others here will name their favorite vendor (usually anyway).  I even ordered a couple magazines for the full size CZ 75.  Yes, they stick out the bottom of the grip.  However, if I've gone through the 15 in the gun and still need ammo, I don't care if the spare mags. stick out the bottom of the grip a little bit and I'll be glad to have the additional rounds.

you can take the full size mags and put the SP01 mag base on them for a flush fit!

Your question wasn't dumb at all.

The reason behind requiring 10 round magazines in some states.  Well, that IS dumb.

Exactly. A follow-up question is that if you are in a state that is limited to 10 rounds anyway, why not consider the P-06? You get about a 25% increase in ft/lbs with only a slight increase in ammo cost.

IMHO, the P-06 is really underrated, and this is from somebody who also owns a P-01 and PCR. The P-06 has a recoil like most non-CZ 9mms, which probably shouldn't surprise anybody who owns a CZ and is familiar with their inherent ability to mute recoil.

I'm actually not in a ban zone but since CZs are so hard to find right now was wondering if the compliant models work like the regulars.  It would actually work out for me since a friend of mine lives in a ban state and would likely be interested in a couple more mags.

Also, Ace that's a really good idea.  Is there any gap?

They are exactly the same pistol, but with limited-round magazines that are interchangeable with all others.
