Good evening. As per thread title, i need advice on gripping the CZ83.
The slidestop is in exactly the wrong place for my support hand (left) thumb. Under recoil, my thumb occasionally either pushes the lever up or i hold it down.
Also, there isn't much room on the frame under the slide to place the thumb.
What is the best/easiest way to grip this pistol?

What works for me for just static paper target shooting with the CZ83 and similar profiles (SIG P230, Walther PP, vz.50, etc.), is a thumb over thumb hold style like that used for revolver shooting versus a thumbs forward that I normally use with semiautomatic pistols.

I use a thumb forward hold and rest my left hand thumb on the spot just under the slide, forward of the trigger
What is best for you is probably very dependant on the size of your hands

Thanks for pointing out the interaction with slide stop for right handers. Being a lefty, I never noticed. I just purchased a CZ83 for the wife for our anniversary. She is a total novice having only shot my Kadet on the P01 frame, but has been taught two thumbs forward grip.
