Title: CZ 455 Ultra Lux sling swivel options
Post by: sikacz on March 29, 2016, 03:49:49 PM
After years of contemplating a CZ rimfire I was finally able to purchase a CZ 455 Ultra Lux in January. Love. Shoots well and is all I could want. Recently I started thinking about slings. I can't seem to find what swivel fits the stud on the rifle. I considered removing the stud to take with me but I'd rather not mess with it. And if I buy online I need more info anyway. The CZ site doesn't seem to have that as a part accessory. They have european style swivel assembly but it doesn't look like it will fit the stud on the Ultra Lux . Comments appreciated, thanks.

The CZ swivels will fit. If you want you can use Uncle Mikes swivels, but you'll have to use a drill bit to open the holes in the studs slightly.

Thanks painter for your comment. I don't want to drill out the stud so a CZ swivel is what I'd like to use. This is the only swivel I can find from CZ. But the stud looks smaller than on the rifle. Will this one fit on the original stud? I don't mind buying two screws that don't get used.

To the best of my knowledge that is the only swivel that CZ uses.

I'd order them without hesitation.

Thank you. Is the 1 1/8" the inside dimension? I'm thinking of a sling like this.

Or just an old military sling for a Mosin Nagant M39 which has a similar looking loop.

Bad news the European sling swivel item number 5812129304 will not fit the standard swivel stud on a CZ 455 Ultra Lux. The item comes with a stud that is 3/16" between the flats and the original is 5/16" between the flats.  No dimensions were given for the swivel so my gamble. I lost. The pin is slightly under an 1/8" and should ideally be slightly bigger on the original. It's probably possible to remove the original stud but I'm not inclined to do that. There's not enough material on the swivel on either side of the stud to machine it to size. I'll let y'all know if I find a non mod solution.

The solution without modification is a GrovTec GTSW-01 GT Locking Swivel.

Bonus, made in the USA. Hope this help another 455 UL owner in the future!
