I happened across a listing for a "new made in the USA 9mm barrel" for the CZ 52. Anyone converted theirs?
I've always had an interest in adding a 52 to my small stash of handguns, but I reload for all my pistols and revolvers and didn't want to mess with the original 52's bottle neck cases. Being able to mod one to 9mm might push me over the edge. The price on the 9mm barrel is 158$.
-
Not much of a conversion as you just remove the Tok barrel and put the new one in. Uses the same magazine/extractor/ejector for the Tok and 9mm versions.
-
Could you tell me where I can get a 9mm barrel? I neglected to buy one when they were cheap cuz the 7.62x25 surplus ammo was so plentiful & cheap, why would I want to alter the gun? In my infinite wisdom I bought a replacement 7.62x25 barrel, which I swear at every time I see it now.
-
Ebay and GunBroker both have them. Be prepared to spend north of $150.
-
On these conversions, if the ejector is not trimmed down for the 9mm it is a unreliable jam-o-matic and once done then it is somewhat unreliable with the X 25 ammo.
A big gamble but a very few say it works fine with either ammo if the ejector is not trimmed, but only 1 way to find out!

Good tip Slim, I'll keep that in mind. I'm gonna check ebay again.
-
Perhaps I don't really need a 9mm barrel. I bid $170.00 & it sold for $212.50. I didn't even pay that for the gun to begin with.
-
Yup. I wonder why no one makes them anymore, they used to be dirt cheap and it seems that they have all dried up now.
-
Because 99% said they dont work proper with 9mm!
-
I got a 52 recently with both barrels. Today I finally made it to the range, put a box of 9mm through it and the only issue I had was 1 magazine wouldn't activate the slide lock. Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones or maybe the previous owner had some work done to make it work with 9mm.

Lets us know how it shoots with X25!

Dude is NUTS, gun lost value with new ext. slide stop also the weird emblems on grips may have ruined them, gun without 9mm barrel in that shape is $325.-$350. at best. In Mint these with holster do go for about $400.

Are the holsters serial numbered? I see czechpoint sells them for $13...wouldn't expect them to add that much value.

I would with any 52 upgrade your rollers and pin through harington. I have never had one issue since using their products.

Why would you want to convert a CZ-52? It fires a projectile just a little slower than the speed of light! What's not to love about that.......
