Hello all,
I recently purchased a CZ 75 SP-01 and within two weeks I was in love and looking at their rimfire rifle line. Needless to say I have a 455 American on the way, and now I am in the market for a scope. I have my eyes set on the Nikon prostaff II 3-9 x 40mm BDC rimfire model. I guess I am concerned with fit (I have read about bolt clearance issues), reliability, quality, and price. I do have a friend that works at Basspro who receives a 40% discount; so the scope being available at basspro would all be a huge plus. This my first rifle and first scope, so I am looking for suggestions to help me find a nice scope with a price point of under $150(after 40% discount if purchased at basspro) or ring suggestions if the nikon is great option.
thanks in advance

I recently put a Nikon Prostaff 3-9/40 EFR Rimfire on my new 455 American - I like it a lot - the BDC is very similar and same size, EFR has AO to eliminate parallax, but the EFR is usually priced a little higher - got mine for $189 at Cabella's and got $20 of immediately by opening credit card account, and another $10 credit for using the card a bit- mounted with BKL-257-MB rings and works like a charm - rings only $25 from amazon - that will save you some money right there. The bolt handle clears nicely, and getting the eye relief correct was simple.

I have a Mueller APV on my 455 American 17HMR, it's an A/O 4.5-14x40 that works well for target, small varmint, and pest shooting. They normally run between $125 and $140 unless you buy from Gander Mountain. CZ factory medium height rings work fine on my rifle. 4 seasons of P'dog shooting and at least 2000 rounds down range with no issues at all.

I actually have the 455 Varmint but as far as scopes go I have a Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x40. Very clear optics. Regular $119 but I got mine on sale at optics planet for $89. Can't beat the Vortex "no questions asked" lifetime warranty. Also I really like the CZ rings from CZ USA. I believe mine are the High rings but work great and very solid.

I just picked up my new 455 in 22 WMR. The trigger is amazing.
I mounted a Weaver Grand Slam 3-10x40 on her. Perfect.
Cannot wait to get to the range.
