Title: P07 - duty p07 ??
Post by: DOC 1500 on June 25, 2016, 08:36:43 AM
Hi all I'm new here and new to  Cz guns.
My question is P 07 is the newest model the duty p07 is the old one correct??
Actually what is the difference between 75 po7 , Duty po7, and P 07?
Got a chance to put a P-07 in my hand this week absolutely love it.
I presently own Springfield XD mod .2 9mm. In the process of selling it to get a CZ po7.
, I've watched a lot of videos and read a lot of reviews on the P - 07... any recommendations from you guys on the purchase would be appreciated.

Duty is the Gen 1 version, P07 is the Gen 2. Do a search on the forum and you will find a few threads and videos comparing the two.

"Actually what is the difference between 75 po7 , Duty po7, and P 07?"

The "75" was drop off from the Gen 2 (CZ P-07)

Gen 1 "Duty" (CZ 75 P-07)
Gen 2  (CZ P-07)

The Gen2 does not have DUTY on the slide plus the other differences mentioned.

If you want to sell a firearm, get yourself 25 posts, then put it in the Classifieds. Not here.

I understand. I'm trying to sell one of my Canik / Tristar to get another CZ. I love my P-07 gen 2 and I highly recommend it. I personally think the gen 2 is worth $100 more than the original. I think the steel sights are great.

On another Forum I post a question as to whether they think the CZ po7  gen 2 is better then the Springfield XD mod 2.
Many love the CZ but some said the XD is manufactured better ,better machine parts.
Please give me honest opinions from those with experience.
What would you choose and why?

Well, you know what they say about opinions...

I have owned two XDs (an XD-M and an XD-S, both in 9mm) myself and in my opinion they do not even come close to the CZ. Now, that comes with a couple of footnotes... :)

1. There are a couple of things I always have upgraded out of the box with Cajun Gun Works parts (the Trigger Return Spring, the Firing Pin Retaining Pin, and I usually upgrade the Firing Pin Spring and Hammer Spring to lighter weights) and that takes a great pistol to an excellent one IMO. There are specific reasons behind each of the upgrades - I'd be happy to elaborate via PM if you are interested in the reasoning behind these and other upgrades.

2. I greatly prefer hammer-fired TDA guns over striker-fired guns... personal preference based on my need to carry appendix and a general concern for safety under stress.

In the short time I have been shooting pistols (6 years) I have shot nearly every model of modern pistol available and I've owned XDs, Glocks, CZs, HKs... all told I've bought and sold a total of 16 different pistols trying to hone in on what suited me best. I can honestly say I am there now with my CZ P-07.

I will surely pick up a few more... and throw a P-09 or two into the mix as fun guns... but, for me and my wants and needs, the P-07 is as close to perfect as it gets.

I'll sound a little similar to s0nspark here. Since the early nineties I've owned close to fifty different pistols from all the big name manufacturers, along with renting countless others, and the P-07 Duty is by far one of my favorites. The XD9, XDm 9, and XDS 9 are all long gone, and for that matter, did not stay in my stable for long!

Concerning competition, the only striker fire handguns that I do carry or, would consider carrying as much as my P-07 are my CZ 100, the Glock 19, and Sig P320 C. But that's a whole other, different conversation for elsewhere. Back on point, when it comes to a hammer fired polymer handgun, the one that works best for me out of all the available options in the marketplace is the CZ.

Internally workmanship on my P09 has many rough tooling marks, my XDM does not have these rough marks which are quite well known about on many CZ's!

Could you please post pictures of the many rough internal tooling marks on your P09?   I have a P07 and don't notice any so I'm wondering what you are referring to.

Mine either - I have one of the UG P-07s.

Besides, once a gun breaks in tool marks are irrelevant unless you go around showing off the inside of your gun ;-)

I have personally shot the Springfield XD 9 and I decided to not buy it. The P-07 is way better and much easier to customize to make it exactly what you want.

Don't get me wrong; the XD was OK...but the CZ P-07 is way better. Not even a contest between the two. The P-07 was superior from the first shot.
