It might be useful to see how the rifling in people's barrels is holding up after various round counts. Also, it would be of interest to know if you were using bimetal ammo or copper jacket ammo.
So, share a picture and a few data points if you can. I'll post pictures of mine when I get the chance tomorrow.
Thanks!

I don't have pics of my barrels, but the rifle I took out yesterday has over 2,000 rounds through it and looking down the bore at the range after 300 rounds it still looked nice and shiny. After cleaning it last night, it sparkled and the lands were as sharp as the day I bought it. Of course, this isn't scientific and purely subjective but it still looks beautiful.
The accuracy has remained and I haven't yet used any copper cleaner in the bore. I was shooting at clays and a 10" plate from over 100 yards. While I didn't hit 100% of the time, the dirt kicked up when missing showed that the rounds were off by just a few inches. That inaccuracy was more likely due to my unsupported, offhand, standing shooting than any fault of the rifle. A silhouette plate would have had a much more significant hit ratio.
All ammo through the rifle has been bimetal. Wolf, Golden Tiger, Brown Bear, Red Army.

Taking quality pics of barrel internals is very difficult -- you almost have to have a fiber-optic type cable camera to get quality pics... Personally, I rely on what the targets tell me.
The M1 garand bullet in muzzle might be helpful too, but have never done on a 7.62x39 weapon: http://forums.thecmp.org/showthread.php?t=42041

Perhaps a better method/metric would be to (lead) slug out the barrel and measure the slug. You also may need to understand what VZ.58 variant and barrel type is being measured for comparison.
