Getting one soon for my 75B compact (wonder how strange it'll look to have the full-length slide up there). What exactly will I need to do the "minor fitting?" I have very fine sandpaper but I don't have fine files. What kind of fine files should I get? Anything else?

I used the file on my Leatherman. Fine sandpaper (something like 300 or 600 grit wetdry) on a flat right angle block of wood should work also. Just take a couple passes and try to fit it.

I used a flat 6" fine file. I needed to file a bit of material off of the lug at the bottom of the slide, and a bit off of theguides at the front of the slide. I used the file two strokes and check technique, which takes longer but eliminates over removal. I'd like to hear how yours comes out. I was at the range yesterday witha guy who has shot a lot in the past. He was very interested in my 75 BD with the conversion. He has arthritus in his wrist and can't stand the recoil of even a 9mm. He liked the .22. He was showing me that the gun can shoot 6" groups at 50 yds shooting one handed! He used to be on a marksman team. I'm not there yet. The price of that expertise may be the arthritus in the wrist.

I brought a 2" Arkansas sharpening stone with me when I picked-up my 85b and Kadet conversion, think it took about 10 minutes and I was shooting on the range.

Maybe I was lucky, but the only tools I needed to get my Kadet kit on to my CZ85B was a pocket knife to open the cardboard box.
Another thing . . . soon after I got the Kadet. I sold my Ruger MKII Target model. That's how good my Kadet kit is!
