I am just curious as to what the attraction is to the threaded barrel pistols that every manufacturer seems to be selling now.
I know probably less than 5% of them will ever see a suppressor so why do you want that extra sticking out?
-
I ordered the suppressor ready P01. Why? I don't own a suppressor but no one seemed to have the Omega P01s in the standard black/blue slide length barrel model so I got the one I could buy.
Do I mind the barrel sticking out? Nah. Not really. I don't notice it. Not when carrying, not when shooting - it does "catch" me when field stripping because I keep forgetting to take the thread protector off before I try to pull the barrel out of the slide.
Anyway, soon I'll have a threaded barrel for my Pre B CZ 85. Why? Because I needed a new barrel (original badly pitted in the chamber and barrel) and no one seemed to have the standard barrel and I'm getting to old to sit around and patiently wait on stuff to come in stock (though they did about 4 days after I ordered the threaded barrel - that's the way it works, had I not ordered the threaded barrel the standard barrels would most likely still be out of stock).
Now I'll have two suppressor capable 9MM pistols and I'll just have to tell my wife I need a good 9MM suppressor. We all know how that stuff works, don't we.....

I think a lot of people would like to eventually get a suppressor too if funds allowed for it.
-
I dont know what others use theirs for but my threaded cz has a big compensator on the end of it.

It's all about having options.

I just ordered an OD SP-01 9mm (with a threaded barrel) from KY Gun Co today. The threaded barrel will make it easier to tell it apart from the SP-01 Tactical in .40 cal.
If I ever move to a free state, I'll consider adding a suppressor.
