Hi all,
I posted this in the "Introduction" section and 1SOW was kind enough to let me know that I should post it in the CZ 97 area of the forum. So, for your reading pleasure (?), I'm re-posting it here. I wrote this early this week:
Today I replaced my front "glo" sight with an FO one from Cajun Gun Works. Did it on the dining room table too! ;-) The kit they sent was top-drawer, even included a punch to get the factory sight off. They included both fluorescent red and yellow fibers about 1 1/2" long each, which should last a long time.
From the several hundred rounds I've fired downrange so far, I believe this change-out will work a lot better at 50 yards and further. With the standard front sight, I was all over the target in mid-afternoon sun. I also bought a new rear sight - the "EZ/D trapezoid" - but haven't had time to swap-out the factory one. For that, I'll need to use my padded vice to put the slide in... The Cajun kit came with a punch to remove the existing one and as long as I can correctly sight the new rear one in, I think my accuracy will improve. Maybe I should say "I hope...".
Any comments on this setup are greatly appreciated!
Best regards,
Rob

That's the same sight set up I just put on my 97B. The EZ/D is easier for me to use to focus on the front sight, align the tops and evenly space the front in-between the rear's. Always had problems with the original CZ sights with that. I started with the red FO and switched to the green. It is just easier for me to see and focus on. I also think the additional 1/2" of sight distance the EZ/D adds makes aiming more accurate.
The biggest problem I ever had was centering the rear sight for correct POA/POI. Got the CZC sight pusher and never had a problem after that!

Thanks longgonedaddy! I might need to get the CZC rear sight pusher, since I am concerned with getting the sight correct.
