Title: Model 45 (.25 designed in 1945) issues
Post by: .25 kid on November 03, 2016, 02:07:53 PM
Hi, excuse the first post being a plea for help, but there it is.  Bought a .25, took to the range today.  Shot exactly two rounds.  Gun quit.  Background: bought online, barrel has very well defined rifling, frame and slide a little surface rust but even the factory plastic grips are not cracked, so pretty nice shape.  Gun came with what I am sure is an aftermarket magazine because not one color variance, scratch, nothing, on the magazine.  Taking the mag in and out is a little more difficult than I expected, and just the way it fits and how the rounds act, it has to be junk.  Anyway, I am open to hearing from those who know.  Any reason this highly thought of pistol should have jamming issues?  Magazine likely culprit?  I am hunting for a factory mag, have located what I think is a source.  Thank you sincerely in advance for your time and knowledge.

What pistol is this? a Model 45? If it is, why is this post here, and not in the appropriate forum?

A .25 Cal CZ-45 IS a Relic and obviously belongs on this list.

I suspect you (Original Poster) have hit on the problem. I have a CZ 45 and it has an aftermarket magazine that is a bear to remove. I honestly have never shot it, but I'd love to have an "original" magazine for it too.

My CZ45 originally came with a mag that was 3 mm too short to be able to feed a round into the battery.

I did some research and bought the right magazine and now it feeds ball ammo just fine, but occasionally has a problem with hollow points as the feed ramp is pretty steep.

Thanks for the replies.  Sorry, though I am aware this is a C&R I did not know there was a C&R section to the forum.  Anyway, I bought a magazine said to be a factory mag, no difference, infortunately.  Anyone want to buy a model 45? I thnk I will will just get my wife an Airweight.

The search feature on the CZ forum is good for finding information.  It has helped me substantially with my collection of CZs.

Here is a link to my thread trying to solve a magazine issue on my CZ45:  http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=79109.0

If you're still trying to solve the problem--the TWO (2) after-market magazines I bought from Triple-K work with my CZ45.

Since you don't have 25 posts yet, you're not allowed to sell (or buy) anything in the WTS/WTB forum on this board (see the FAQ), but I'm interested in how much you might want for your not-fully-functional CZ45.  I like to collect the older guns and fix them back into working condition.

check gun brokers. I have a few 36/45 on there. They are aftermarket and work fine. However my other question would be what type of ammo/ age are you feeding it? I have a lot of CZ .25's and almost all of them prefer their own type of ammo. The most reliable is my 45. However .25acp jamming is frequently experienced. I like to use Hornady Critical defense rounds in my 45. It always feeds them and they are a nice little HP round.
Good Luck!!!!!
