Title: What compacts are single action
Post by: Roikyou on November 05, 2016, 11:00:38 AM
Just curious as I'm running the tactical sport, which compact and mid size models are single action manual safety 9mm. Really don't care for strikers and da/sa.

From the factory there are not any Single Action Only models from CZ. The Compact 75, new SP-01 compact and the Rami with a safety can all be converted to SAO.

The CZ Rami and 75 Compact are available with manual safety and can be carried in single action mode (i.e. cocked and locked). Obviously DA will will be there and you can manually lower the hammer if necessary. Alternatively you can do a SAO conversion on the 75 Compact. I'm not sure if it's possible to convert the Rami. Like bigmatt said, to my knowledge there are no SAO compact models from the CZ factory.

Thanks for input. I enjoy the TS and Sig legion SAO (shoot the TS more). Legion would be my carry option unless i find the right CZ to replace it. Currently looking into the SP-01 tactical and P-01 for mid and compact. I just have a really hard time getting over the DA. CGW is going to do a make over on the two, just hoping the investment is the right direction with how much more i enjoy single action.

Both of the pistols you mention are equipped with a decocker and a rail. You may also wish to consider the P07 (polymer frame) and/or P-01 omega (aluminum frame like the P01 but with omega trigger system) - these options have the capability of swapping the decocker for a manual safety, in which case you can opt to carry cocked and locked.

If you went with safety models instead of de-cockers, you'd have the option to convert to SAO.

Converted my classic 75 compact to SAO. It's a joy to shoot. the beavertail on my new SP-01 Compact is just like my Tactical Sport (when I had one). You could convert that to a SAO and that's probably as close to a Tactical Sport as you'll get in a compact sized CZ.

There's my SP-01 full size next to my new SP-01 Compact. The beavertail is the main difference.

Finished SP-01 Compact. I love shooting shooting it! I'm sure CGW could get it down  close to the Tactical Sport trigger pull.
