I am interested in improving my new P-01 with polishing and parts.
Also interested in IDPA in the future.
CGW website says the production legal kits are not recommended for defensive carry.
Is it the non-stock hammer and or trigger replacement that makes it not competition legal? Is it just in the stock class, or ?
What can I use to improve the action, be legal for competition, and still be completely reliable for defensive carry?
Perhaps I should call CGW and inquire, also. But, I figure many of you on this site are experienced and could easily educate an fng like me...
Thanks!

That kit comes with the CZ Comp hammer (production legal), it drops in nice but a little light for carry. It may work just fine for you but it it lighter.
Production class you can not have external changes, so no trigger with a pre travel screw, the 85C trigger with overt travel is legal. It also depends on how far you would like to go in the comp ranks (local, regional or national). I would consult a local official to make sure you get what you need.
Thanks

I've cajunized my p09. The kit comes with different springs for carry vs competition. If you set up for competition - lighter hammer spring increases chance you won't go boom every shot. annoying in a match - deadly in a fight. So if gun is dual purpose - use the parts for protection. The kit is still a big improvement.
