Title: CZ 27 Mag catch

Can anyone help me to understand a CZ 27 mag catch difference?  I have one with a rolled/stamped config that left a opening for a lanyard to be installed.

When  I was able to acquire a another mag catch, it was machined with the end in a solid steel triangle or pie shape looking shape.

Was it based upon serial number or is it a CZ24 mag? However my CZ 24's have a machine catch that which has a hole drilled in them for the lanyard and looks nothing like the pie shape one.

I believe the solid magazine catch is the earlier design, I have 2 CZ 27's both of high polish blue finish and both have the German army stamps. The earlier serial numbered gun has a solid magazine catch.

Thanks so much for the info. Knowing the first CZ27's  that came in high polished blue finish had milled mag catches is great info for me!

The stamped magazine catch was a wartime expedient.  All pre-war and early wartime CZ27's should have machined magazine catches and machined side plates (easily identified by the tiny locking screw).  Because the machined magazine catches tend to break easier than the stamped ones, I sometimes encounter pistols with incorrect (replaced) magazine catches.  If your pistol is between 50215 and 69276 I should very much like to ask a few questions about it.

Thanks for the info on my machine mag catches!

Thru a online purchase, I was able to obtain numerous parts for the CZ27 which included this machine mag catch. I don't know the serial number from initial assembly that is associated to this mag catch.

i JUST WANT TO PUT THIS OUT THERE THAT I HAD STUMBLED UPON A COMPANY THAT MANUFACTURES THE CZ24/27 MAGAZINE CATCH.....,.
I had looked all over this planet,it seems,even tried making one out of a jigsaw blade......

I could'nt believe it! I found the website by looking for Mauser 1910/34 parts to see if they would work for me.

Cool!  It's a hard part to find, or at least was in the pre-internet days.  Back in the 1980's I had an otherwise pristine German production CZ-27 with a broken mag catch that someone had tried to silver solder back together, and I looked  everywhere for a replacement without success until I found one in a parts box on a table at the old Great Western Gun Show here in California...as I recall, it cost me $25, while the pistol itself has only cost me $125.
