Title: New p-01 FP roll pin problem
Post by: graebeard on January 14, 2017, 09:26:00 PM
I have a NIB p-01 that I have put 900 problem free rounds through.  I was cleaning it up the other night and noticed shardes of this pin falling out of the hole in the slide.  Dry firing has been kept to a minimum and when I did, I used snap caps or an oring on the firing pin.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Should I be concerned?

I haven't had this happen to me but yeah, I'd be concerned about it. You can drive the pin out and look at it. My guess is it needs to be replaced. CGW sells a hardened pin. I'd sure look at the FP and spring, too. Whichever pin gets put back in the slide, the notch goes up.

BTW welcome to the site. Easily the friendliest and most helpful forum I've ever seen.

Ya sounds a little early for FP damage. As Delphidoc mentioned, you can get new improved ones from Cajun Gun Works.
If you prefer to keep it stock, call CZ USA warranty dept. They will take care of you.

Thanks, that is what I figured.  I would like to keep it stock...but clearly a few new pins and sights are in order...

If you do upgrade from stock, you may also need a new FP. If the retaining pin is that chewed up, good chance the FP is worn also. There's a sticky in the smithing section that explains how to remove the FP.
