Classic Firearms has some .380 ACP CZ83s for sale for $289.99.

Not sure if this is the correct place for this question... Is it possible to convert a CZ 82/83 from .380/9x18 to .32? Comments? Suggestions? The .32s are about impossible to find...so I thought I'd see if a conversion would be feasible...

If you can find a .32 barrel, I believe that is all you need. Might need .32 mags too. The barrel has to be pressed out and back on, so may need to take it to a good gunsmith if you don't have the equipment. I was considering doing it at one time and I found a barrel at CZ USA. It was a while back, so the barrel may not be available there now.

Why is .32 more desirable than .380?
-
Barrel and mags but probably just as hard to find. Not much has been done to 32 cartridges to make them a better defense round compared to a lot having been done in 380. Lack of this has caused some mfgs to quit making guns in 32. Only thing making the 83 in 32 is the same reason, because they are hard to find. Have several different 32 handguns so I even reload 32. Great plunking round if you don't have to buy 32 which is typically higher priced than 380.
Love my chromed Colt 1903 and have had an 83, Keltec P32, Bersa and couple others over the years and still miss the 83. If are in to nice blues guns the 83 is a really nice looking gun with wood grips.

Why a .32? For the wife...Will head to range to confirm, but I think, and so does she, that the .380 and 9x18 will be a bit much for her...so...a "heavy" '83 in .32 should do the trick... Have a CZ27, will let her send some rounds downrange with that when I get the spring job done...Buffalo Bore has some decent rounds in .32, should be adequate. Will post when my project is done... Thx for the comments and suggestions.

Seems to be much fewer of them available. I have both and much prefer firing the .32 ACP. I find the CZ83 with .380 ACP very snappy. Much more so than the .32 or the CZ82 in 9mm Mak.

Ja, that's what I'm thinking...heavier pistol, lighter round=less "felt recoil"... Still trying to get an answer to the slide issue...can I use a .380/9x18 slide and just change out the extractor, or do I need to acquire a slide made for .32 cal... The barrel is no problem... If a purpose-made .32 cal slide is required, then problem..

Still trying to get an answer on the slide question...would using a slide from a .380/9x18 cause feeding issues with .32ACP?
