Has anyone fired the 805 with the gas tube/piston removed?
Would it be safe to do so? I assume the gas will still vent up towards where the regulator usually is.
I'm trying to figure out if the rifle can be used as a bolt action with the charging handle.
P.S. yes I know the correct answer is move to a free state. :'(

Not bren but bolt-action. These are also sold in the USA?

That's Dutch, I think, maybe South Africa?
I have seen neutered versions of several popular semi auto rifles, but the only ones I have seen for sale in the US are the pump action AK rifles that California allowed for a while. Actually saw one in a pawn shop once, laughed because it was going to stay there forever, in Free AZ.
You might look at CzechpointUSA, and ask them, as those pictured are vz-58 neuters.
Would the BREN work as a bolt action? With the reciprocating bolt handle, that is entirely possible, but would it be legally allowed as a bolt action to a place that outlaws the complete rifle? Unknown.

The VZ is also sold as a single shot in the UK, as is the AR style rifle.

I'd go CZ 527 carbine instead... If lever actions are allowed, something in .357 would make a great self defense carbine...
