Title: New Witness Owner
Post by: TxStorm on June 14, 2006, 09:39:21 PM
Evening, folks!  Just wanted to give a hiya out to everyone and introduce myself.  Most folks just call me Trace and I'm here in Central Texas. I'm normally an XD fan but saw a nice Witness on the XD shooting club's forum and decided to give it a try.  So I traded a XD Sub-Compact 9mm for a EAA Witness Longslide in .40 with 5 mags (3 of which are new), adj. rear sight, FO front sight and a 2nd trigger & spring in SA only. Now I am just waiting on it to hit the FFL dealer's shop!  It is a slightly older version with the smaller frame and in general going nuts trying to find a GOOD holster in Kydex for it as I'm thinking it looks like a nice USPSA pistol. So any help there would be great..
Anyway, here is a pic for your pleasure:

Very nice looking gun.  Try Balde=Tech, I have just ordered one of theirs for my Tanfoglio "L" model.  If you are into casating, size to .356/.357 for the gun.  I tried .355 using my own lead bullets and found out quickly gun preferred the large diameter bullet.  124 gr. shoot 1/2" groups at 15 yards all day long.  Great gun, great swap.

Congratulations on your .40 LongSlide Witness and Welcome to the Forum!  As for Holsters, some for the GLock 34 will fit very nicely, but try before you buy.

Any particular brands come to your mind?  I've think I settled on a SafariLand 5186 but may have an issue as they only list a 4.5" and my barrel is 4.75"... it is open bottomed but does narrow in so I may have to trim.  trying to avoid these kind of mods.  Thanks guys for your replies!

Eric at HBE Holsters over in Utah makes a great holster and offers them in different models.  I spoke to him regarding a holster for the "L" and he indicated he could make one up.

Try here:

He has quite a solid reputation.
