I went per HBi's micro barrel spec. Fits perfect. Bout a quarter inch gap from the handguard and suppressor.
Barrel work was done local. Overall length is just shy of 29" with can installed.

Gemtech MK9K next to a more standard size 9mm suppressor...

Also local Kydex guy made my belt setup, custom 1 piece 3 mag holder for EVO:

Very nice

Sweet setup!
So how quiet is it with the MK9K and how's the balance as well?
I was considering a similar set up but I can't seem to find a Gemtec MK9K anywhere for sale.
Very well done.

I don't have a dB meter or anything but I do know it takes a lot more rounds to heat up in comparison to the standard pencil size 9mm suppressor.
Balance wise, it is a fat dude, so it sorta acts a bit like a compensator with the extra weight up front.
The MK9K is not widely advertised or even stocked as its sort of a niche can. It was originally designed for fully automatic weapons like the MP5. To put things in perspective, it has a 2" outside diameter. There are a lot of .50 BMG and .338 suppressors that are not even that big. lol
My dealer back in January of last year could find ONE in stock out of all his distributors and it had a 1/2 x 36 cap (old school 9mm thread pitch). I said I don't care, get it for me. lol
Not pricely at all, only cost around $600 if I recall. Gemtech still shows them on their website, but my guess is they either produce very small quantities now a days or maybe even stopped production.

I've been looking for a MK9K can for a while. Good score!

I'm wanting to build a matching EVO for my wife with another Gemtech MK9K.
No luck either.
I had no idea until recently this suppressor has been around for over 10 years in basically its same design. (I think they updated the 3 lug version at some point).

Looks like the MK9K has gone through 7 editions since it was introduced in 92'. The last being in March of 2015.

I'm going to send Gemtec a message to see when the next production run may take place.
Love the overall look of your Scorpion w/ the MK9K. It's my favorite of all the Scorpion pics posted thus far.

For those that like the Gemtec MK9K but can't find one the B&T SMG/PDW suppressor has similar dimensions and is available. It's a few hundred more though.

You know my biggest beef was the Scorpion looked weird with a typical pencil width suppressor. This thing is already so incredibly light it was begging for something big to go on it.

I have been using a Silencerco Omega 9k with mine and love the look. It's short and a little fatter than typical pistol cans. I wanted the MK9K for some full auto sub guns. They are supposed to have low back pressure so it doesn't increase cyclic rate as much. I think it would look great on an Uzi.

I got started on some case work for it. Still need to go back and clean up the cuts and edges. Then it gets a healthy coat of black plasti-dip to harden it.

Case is actually 3 and 1/2 layers deep so there is addtional capacity underneath for more magazines, a pistol, and other assorted items.

Picked up a used C-More from a local guy I know for a good price and took it to the range to get dialed in at about 25 yards.
Never had one of these sights before, I just know they are very popular in competitions. Now I know why. Excellent FoV and very light.
