I went to the range today planning on shooting the Kadet then the 97, 60 rounds each, disciplined, structured bullseye practice slow fire, timed fire, rapid fire. I set up a 50 yard target and got the Kadet out and just sprayed rounds all over the backer. Not today for the Kadet. Might need cleaning. If it was me, I wasn't going to waste any .45 ammo if I wasn't up to it myself, so I decided to forego formal bullseye practice and just get in some more trigger time with the P-10C. Even if I were unsteady, I could learn the trigger. Plus I wanted to see how it would do at 50 yards, slow fire, single hand anyway.
With low expectations, I didn't bother to set up any cameras. Instead, I checked the zero, shooting single hand, made some adjustments for a single hand and for a 6 o'clock hold on the bullseye target, and then shot 10 rounds bullseye target. Confirmed the zero was right, marked the first 10 shots, then got serious about actually pulling the trigger without moving the pistol. The results were excellent when I controlled the trigger, same as with a P-07 or even a P-09.
I thought it might be of interest to demonstrate what happens with good trigger control versus what happens when one is lazy and sloppy. Especially without a lot of experience with the firearm.
One thing I confirmed. I can spray bullets with a P-10C just like I can with any of my other pistols. What is cool is that I can shoot really good groups with the striker gun when I don't move the gun as I am releasing the striker. Simple as that. Pistol is excellent, shooter needs work.
This video will finish uploading by 11:40 CDT. It is short, but, to me, pretty sweet.

This is fun. This is not easy.

Here is my temporary fix for the trigger pecker and slot in the P-10C trigger. The Q-tip and tie are there to hold the pecker fully retracted until the JB-Weld solidifies. Yes, I can scrape it off if I don't like it. This is a range only gun, NOT a carry gun.

This is what polymer guns are for.

Ha!! I really wanted to shoot the Kadet, but I do think I need to clean the barrel. I really did spray .22 rounds today at 50 yards. I can usually put all the rounds on the repair center, even after a missing a few weeks of shooting the Kadet. Rather than waste the time, I just went to the P-10C. Based on the P-10C results, I wasn't having a poor day, physically, so I SHOULD have been able to shoot the Kadet well.
Right now, I'm glad I concentrated on the P-10C. Today. Today only.

I have a few sizes boresnakes in my range bag. Have saved my range days many times.

That would probably have worked. I really just wanted to play with the P-10C. It's all mental.

50 yards???....big deal! Let me get my binoculars in one hand to maybe see the target, and I will be ready to match you! ;D

Before you get a binoculars, you will need to get a hold of some Sugru and JB Weld. Without those secret components, you will be wasting your ammo. ;)

You just know the pistol designers have to be shaking their heads over that mod from the Joe-Tac Custom Shop!

I wish target pistols would ship their grips with more than just a back strap customization. More like "mold your own" grip kits.
Some of my target pistols have an adjustable grips, but it still not enough, even on the best ones. Wood putty and sand paper/rasp instead of Sugru is to rescue, but a lot of work. Before finishing those grips look much worst, but "fit like the glove" proverb is really proves its meaning.
Many shooters put the looks before function and end up with sexy looking, beautiful, flashy guns that are uncomfortable to shot and belong more to the glass display than the range bag.
I myself have been lucky with average medium hands that simple factory rubber grips and some grip tape and maybe trigger position adjustment produce the acceptable results with (mostly) factory look on service pistols. I would imaging the pistol designers would nod instead of shaking their heads.

Boris--I agree. Of course, what I am doing is taking a pistol designed for carry and trying to make a target pistol out of it. The reason the grips are flat on the sides instead of oval is because they formed the polymer grip to the shape and width of the magazine, and made the gun narrower, which is fine for anyone not needing the width and shape to get full contact and to get one's finger position correct every time I pick up the gun.
The Sugru has dried on my trigger fill-in work and NOW the P-10C feels much more like my P-07!!!
But I've gotten some nasty comments on YouTube. Which is a side benefit of modifying the plastic guns.

Joe,
I shot free pistols and 10m pistols as well and totally understand the grip fit concept.
Service pistols grips designed to slide-fit holster, not to hang up on the clothes, be universal for most hands and completely interchangeable withing its family. Nothing like hand-fitting to individual shooter.
Making decent target grade comfortable grip from it is not always elegant solution and I commend you for not being afraid to ruin "the look".

:o Ohhhh....that is a real picture of a mod in the works?????? Joe, I'm SPEECHLESS.
